Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

In this stage I will ask the students to look at the 4 pictures of ice-cream sellers on a beach and ask them a question: Which situation do you think is best for the customers? Why? Then I will ask them to read the article and check their answers.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

In this stage I will ask the students to read the article again and complete the paragraphs with given sentences A-D.

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

In this stage I will ask the students this question: Do you think it's a good or bad thing to have similar stores near each other? Have you ever traveled a long way to go to a store? Why? How far did you travel?
