In this lesson students talk about kinds of impression in different countries mainly in The UK and The US, then they listen to three people talking about their opinions on designer goods. Finally they will study what other people wear in different nationalities and cultures.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T asks students if they love shopping or not how often they go shopping. T sticks three headings on the board, gives students some related words to match them with the headings. T asks students to guess the topic of the lesson. T demos.

Pre-Listening (5-8 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

T pre-teaches the new lexis, elicits, drills, and asks CCQs. T gives students a HO including some sentences. T asks students to read them and say if they agree or disagree in pairs. T demos.

prediction/ listening for gist (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

T sticks three photos on the board,asks students to guess, if they agree or disagree with the designer goods. T asks students to listen to audio answer if the speakers agree or disagree or they have mixed feelings about designer clothes. students check their answers in pairs. T gets feedback.

Listening for more information (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

T gives students a HO. T gives students 1 minute to read the True/False statements. T plays the audio once, Asks students to check in pairs and plays one more to students check their work. T will write the answer key on the board.

Post-Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

T gives questions to students and asks them to stand up and go around the class and talk to other students. And T puts them in groups of three to talk about their previous partners. T demos.
