Description

In this lesson, students are going to learn about past continuous in the context of "That's me in the picture!" through PPP and receptive skills. After that students based on the text should be familiar with prepositions. At the end they should be able to use past continious and prepositions correctly.

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of Past continious in the context of Travel

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide scan reading practice using a text about Picture taken in a travel in the context of Travel

Procedure

Warmer- lead in (2-4 minutes) • To draw students attention in the way of using past continious

First if all i start talking about my yesterday that what was doing during the time I am right now. Then i will ask them "What were you doing yesterday at this time?

Highlighting (2-4 minutes)

I will start writing some of correct sentences that students made on the board

Clarification (8-10 minutes)

In this stage, i will draw a timeline, then i show a point in the past which is in the middle of a duration. I write "I was reading a book yesterday". I move my marker to show the duration of reading the book. Then start asking CCQs. 1. Is it in the past? Y- Is it continuing in the past? Y- Does it continuing up to now? N

Cintrolled practice (10-12 minutes)

The students are going to do excercise 2b on page 128 in the grammar bank in 4 minutes. They will have 2 minutes to check their answers in pairs. Then we will check it together

Free practice (10-12 minutes)

I will ask my students to play a game in groups of 4. 2students will be thiefs and 2 other are police. E.g. the police are going to ask them what were you doing at 9:30 p.m.? And thiefs will answer with past continuous.
