Description

Because of the BG activity that was a bit hard to plan and is anyway intended to take up most of the time it is a bit difficult to know if or where to fit the other stages. The best is probably to do the ppt sentence completion game before starting or completing the BG game so that more ss are comfortable with the sentence pattern. Ideally, this, and the WS would have been done in the first lesson, but if it hasn't I think the T should seriously try to have it done in this second lesson.

  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in a pronunciation in the context of Vicky visits a village

  • To provide clarification and practice of some/a/an in the context of Vicky visits the village

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in/review (8-10 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

The usual, with an added emphasis on some more varied greetings.

Highlighting (5-8 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

Go through the ppt. FCs as a very quick review. Then go to the part when kids are asked to complete the target sentence pattern, like done in previous lessons.

Semi-Controlled Practice (12-15 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

Complete the BG because it most likely wasn't in the first lesson.

The WS also was probably not handed out in the first lesson, in such case it should be done here.
