Description

In this lesson, students are going to learn about quantifiers in the context of expensive menu through PPP. After this lesson students might better be able to use quantifiers to talk about quantity if it is accepted or not accepted. The lesson will be finished with a discussion task about their expensive restaurant.

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of quantifiers in the context of expensive menu

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in a conversation in the context of expensive menu.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (1-2 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

In this stage i will talk about the things i did last night. i will use some of the quantifiers that my students have got familiar with before.

Exposure (2-3 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

In this stage i will ask my students to tell the class about what they would do if they didnt have enough money if they were in a expensive restaurant.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

In this stage i will write some of the sentences that my students/or from my story have made in the correct form on the board to draw their attention to the TL.

Clarification (3-4 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

i will clarify the meaning by writing on the board like asking how the method is and asking some CCQs:(if we have adjective should it be before enough or after and if we have noun same thing or if its unacceptable should it be with the words like too or too much or enough if its acceptable or unacceptable)After that i will elicit the structure from the students to clarify how to form the sentences.

Controlled Practice (2-4 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

In this stage the students will do page 135 part b they will be given 3 minutes to answer the question individually then they will be given 1 minute to check the answer in pairs and then we will check the answer together.

Free Practice (2-3 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

In this stage i will ask them imagine you have won a lottery prize money of 1000$ to throw a party at a luxury place. but pricees are high, and you will have to decide what you can or cant afford.
