Description

In this lesson sts will read a conversation between the host of a radio program and two the Rolling Stones' fans who talk about their experience in a one of the band's gigs. They read for gist and details and fill the gaps with correct adverbs of manners.

Procedure

Lead-in (5-10 minutes) • To set the context

- Show the Rolling Stones video -Ask sts who they are? Ask if they like them. - Ask them if they (mick jagger) should retire

Reading for Gist (3-5 minutes) • Sts skim to answer the questions

- Set the reading task. Tell sts two people (Ella and Matt) are talking to a radio program host about the Rolling Stones because they are fans and have been to a recent live concert. - Sts read quickly to say what Ella and Matt think about Mick Jagger and Keith Ricjards.(PW) -Get FB with the WC

Adverbs of Attitude (7-15 minutes) • Presenting Adverbs of Attitude

- Give HO on attitude adverbs - Sts work in pairs to complete the sentences - Elicit answers with WC -Practice pronunciation (short drilling)

Controlled practice (5-15 minutes) • Sts read for details to fill the gaps with the correct adverbs of attitude

- Give HQ and set the time - SS read the reading text carefully to fill the gaps with appropriate adverbs of attitude - 1- obviously 2-unfortunately 3- Basically 4-definitely 5-Personally 6-actually - FB with the WC

Free Practuice (5-10 minutes) • Provide them with uncontrolled conversation on music, favorite bands, aging

- In groups, sts talk about their favorite musical bands and if they think aged musicians should retire when tehy age.
