Procedure (18 minutes)
T tells a short personal story about looking at old photo albums at their grandmother’s house and remembering childhood. Then T asks students questions like "When you were a child, what did you use to do or what would you often do?" to personalize the topic and get students to share briefly in class.
T shows guiding questions on the slide. Students read them silently to understand what to focus on during the video. Then T plays the video. Students watch and try to find answers based on what they see and hear. After watching, T checks answers briefly with the whole class.
T writes two sentences on the board and explains the use and differences between “used to” and “would.” T elicits meaning from students using CCQs.
T asks CCQs to check students’ understanding of the difference between “used to” and “would.” T displays questions on a slide. Students answer orally as a class. T gives brief feedback and corrects misunderstandings if needed.
T reviews the main points about the difference between used to and would with the whole class. Students can ask questions or give examples to show their understanding.
