In this lesson we start working on "Let's talk 2" by reviewing simple phrases and questions in present, past and future.

Main Aims

  • To provide review of simple present, past and future in the context of What are you like?

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency and accuracy speaking practice in a conversation in the context of What


Warmer/Lead-in (5-10 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

- look at first 2 pages and read phrases (we check probable new words and clarify potential problems)

Exposure (20-30 minutes) • To provide a model of the task and highlight useful words and phrases

P 2&3 will be covered in this part and after each activity we will have some speaking practice to give the S model sentences and useful phrases.

Task (20-30 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

to make S produce (Speaking in this session), we will cover P 4 & 5. Feedback will be after each activity and I will be using self-correction mostly. (I will do some clarification about simple tenses if needed)

Language Analysis (6-8 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the task language

The lesson is mostly reviewing so i do not plan to do clarifications until it's really necessary.

Language Practice (15-20 minutes) • To provide students with practice of the task language

to practice, we will cover P 94 & 95 (T's help will be less in this part) based on free time left and S's interest we can work on "Tactics (basic or developing)" too.
