Procedure (84-90 minutes)
Instructions: Each student starts with one card. They mingle around the room, find a partner, and use the word or phrase in a sentence. Partners listen and help improve the sentence if needed. Then, they swap cards and find a new partner. Repeat for 3–4 rounds. Encourage corrections and peer feedback. Teacher monitors for examples to review later.
Activity: Sentence Clinic: Fix It! Instructions: In small groups, students receive 4–6 faulty sentences. They identify and correct grammar, vocabulary, or structure issues. Groups write the corrected versions on mini whiteboards or paper and compare with another group. Activity: Tell the Week Backwards Instructions: Groups of 3–4 discuss what they did in English class last week — starting from Friday and working back to Monday. Each student contributes 1–2 highlights using past verbs and sequencing phrases. Language Targets: Irregular past verbs: went, took, made, had, etc. Quantifiers: a few, many, much, a little Sequencers: then, after that, finally, earlier, before Each group shares one highlight from their week with the class, using a connector and a past verb.
Activity: Instructor presents 3 student sentences heard during class — 1 strong example, 2 that need improvement. Students: Discuss what’s right and what to change Rewrite improved versions on the board together End with a quick class vote: What topic from last week was most useful? What would you like to practice more this week?
