Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of language used for asking location, finding an apartment

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a casual conversation in the context of apartments and location of objects

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (10-15 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Review: - play matching game with hotel vocabulary - have Ss draw a time on the clock - go over HW p. 21 (Total English, 7 & 8) Put purse on a table on the other side of the room: -Have you seen my purse? -Where did I leave it? > T will elicit proper language from Ss

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

1. How many of these do you know-- activity (Emras.edu WS 3) > White out the words and student try to fill in first > Go over answers as a class or give new HO with vocabulary attached 2. Put the purple balloon (in, on, by, under, behind, in front of, and next to) the table > Face2Face activity 2: Where is the cat (work in pairs)

Highlighting (10-15 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

1. Face2Face p.22, 23 (Apartment Picture) > Make HO -Where is the cat? -Where are the keys? -Where is the suitcase? -Where are the shoes? -Where is the plant? -Where is the iPod? 2.
