Procedure (52-60 minutes)
In pairs, students brainstorm and list: 5 regular past verbs they remember from last week 3 expressions used to describe time or sequence (e.g., after that, in the afternoon, finally) Class collects results and builds a shared list on the board.
First Listening Students take Cornell notes: Left: key verbs and new words Right: the order of events / daily activities Bottom: summary Second Listening Students check for missed time expressions and underline sequencing phrases.
Instructions: Students work in pairs to: Compare their notes Identify 3 similarities and 1 difference in how they understood the speaker’s routine Reconstruct the story together using 4 regular past verbs and 3 sequencing expressions
Quick class check: What was one useful verb or phrase you remembered? What helped you understand the order of events? Choose one event from the speaker’s story and rewrite it in 2–3 sentences using the same past verbs.
