A1-B1 Vets Gen2 level
Materials
Main Aims
-
Practice recounting past clinical experiences with fluency and accuracy
Subsidiary Aims
-
Focus on time sequencing and clear verb pronunciation
Procedure (82-90 minutes)
Activity: Students sit in a circle and build a shared story. Each student adds 1 past action using a regular verb, plus a connector or time phrase. Instructor writes them on the board in sequence.
Instructions: Students draw 1 verb, 1 noun, and 1 time marker and build a sentence. Then switch with a partner and improve each other’s sentence for fluency or accuracy.
Instructions: Students draw a horizontal timeline (e.g., 8 AM – 5 PM). Add 4 past activities they completed during a real or fictional day Include specific times and verbs in past form Share the timeline with a partner, who must ask at least 2 follow-up questions Encourage connectors and time expressions: after that, then, before lunch, later, in the afternoon
Each student writes 1 full sentence about something they learned today using a regular past verb. They read it aloud to the class or submit it as exit slips. Instructor boards a few strong and weak examples and reviews them together. Optional Homework: Write about a past clinic day using 4 regular past verbs and 3 connectors. Bring to class for peer correction.
