Procedure (82-90 minutes)
Students list 5 actions they did in their clinic last week. In pairs, they ask: What did you do on Monday? Did you clean the recovery room or the surgery room? Who did you call? Pairs exchange details and correct each other’s pronunciation.
Tasks: Sort verbs by final sound: /t/, /d/, or /ɪd/ Practice pronunciation in pairs with sample clinic sentences Read aloud and peer-correct (e.g., She checked the cages. He vaccinated two cats.)
Prompt: Describe a recent busy day at your clinic. Steps: Write 4–5 bullet points using simple past Share in small groups, answering questions from peers Ask at least 1 follow-up question per person Encourage: Use of time markers (last week, in the morning, after lunch) Accurate use of past tense verbs
Each student writes and shares 1–2 sentences describing their most productive day last week. Example: I examined five animals and cleaned the whole treatment room. I called the owner after I finished the report.
