Warmer/Lead-in (8-10 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Board Activity: Write these verbs on the board: checked, cleaned, examined, called, organized. Ask: Which of these actions do you do regularly? Which ones did you do last week? Students create 2 past-tense sentences each and share in pairs.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (23-25 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

Cornell Note Setup Left Column: new words, verbs in past Right Column: events or ideas in the narrative Bottom: 2–3 sentence summary of what happened First Listening Students listen with subtitles Second Listening Students complete notes while focusing on past regular verb use and time markers (yesterday, last week, at 10, after lunch)

While-Reading/Listening #2 (13-15 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

In pairs, students: Compare timelines from the video Identify what happened first, next, and last Add one guess about a missing detail (practice logical sequencing)

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Students read 2 new verbs from their notes to a partner. Class: Choose 3 useful past-tense verbs and write sentences as a group. Write 3 sentences about what you did in your clinic last Friday using past regular verbs.
