Procedure (88-115 minutes)
the teacher will start the session by asking students two questions 1- what are the biggest changes people might experience in their life ? 2_ Are they positive or negative
Task 1: Reading Task Students read a short blog post (Evolve text) about a girl (christa) talking about changes in her life. Comprehension Qs (Example): what did the realize about people's ability to change ? how did her own attitude change ? Task 2 :_ Vocabulary in Context the teacher asks students to guess their meanings from context in pairs by a matching quiz they will match the piece of vocab with the proper meaning the teacher observes what they really struggle with
the teacher will clarify difficult or confusing vocabulary items the student struggle with by covering M P F and encouraging them to use these expressions through examples the teacher asks ccqs to check the understanding of the students
Test n1 :_(3-5) the teachers asks the students to do the test in page 141 choose the correct options which they should do it individually then the teachers asks the students to check their answers together (peer check ) after that the teacher shows the key answer Test n2 :_(3-5') choose the correct word from the box to complete the phrase which they should do it individually then the teachers asks the students to check their answers together (peer check ) after that the teacher shows the key answer
the teacher gives the students question to discuss related to the topic pair work :_ what do you think of christa's thoughts about our ability to change ? they are supposed to use the expressions to mention their opinions and real life examples the teacher monitors
the teacher asks the students to read the examples in the chart (target language ) 2-3 min then he asks them to do the test based on the examples in the chart the teacher gives instructions ..set time ..set the pattern ..(individually ) monitors the students errors and mistakes 3-5 then he asks them tp (peer check ) 1
the teacher starts clarifying the target language ( present habits ) based on their mistakes and errors ..he covers M P F ..using examples .. and ask ccqs to check the ss' understanding
the teacher asks the students to open page 129 to do exercise two which is crossing out the options which they are not right he sets the time ..set the pattern ( individually ) monitors then asks for peer check ex.2 the teacher asks the students to think of something they do regularly like going to the gym ...and so on they have to express that by using the expressions of present habits he provides the expressions 1 .. i tend to 2. my friends and i often 3.when i'm feeling ..... 4..i always ... they have to compare their answers with their partner's trying to find something in common
activity one (the teacher shows a question which they should discuss in pairs:_ what habits you would like to change about your life ..? what habits prevent you from moving forward how can you tackle them ) group work ( the teacher divides the whole class into two teams ) they should discuss this question trying as much as possible using the expressions Do you welcome change ? or you would like to stick to your habits ? is it easier to adapt to the changes which you made on your own ...or ones which they are out of your control ? the teacher monitors the students
the teacher provides the students with the mistakes giving them the chance first to figure out the mistake on their own
