Description

in this lesson the ss will learn the vocab of the backpack, as well as they will learn plural nouns and possessive nouns and speak about their trips and what they will need to take for the trip

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification, review and practice of the vocab of backpack for the trip in the context of travel

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide clarification, review and practice of plural and possessive nouns in the context of travel

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

the ss will be shown a pics of the backpack stuff and the teacher should elicit the words, asking the CCQs: 1. what do we take with us when we go to travel? which document? 2. what else can we take with us? anu suggestions?

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

the ss will read a short text about the back pack stuff and then will answer the questions to the text.

Highlighting (5-10 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

the ss will work in pairs and talk about their back pack, what would they take with them for a trip. the teacher listens to their dialogs and elicits the mistakes

Clarification (10-15 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

the SS one by one will talk about their trip and things for the trip, and the teacher provides the MFP of the new words

grammar intro (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more grammar intro

ask the following: we have one map, and here are 2 maps. Did you notice any difference? for plurals we add S. Write on the WB: This is my camera - These are my cameras. That is a map - Those are maps. we use this/these to point out people, animals, or things that are close to us (use gestures) we use that/those to point out people, animals or things that are fra from us (use gestures) to show on the example of the sunglasses: Whose these sunglasses? Teach that we use "whose" when we want to ask about the possession.

Controlled and Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

The students will do the Ex 4, and then they will orally give the naswers to the following nouns: from the Ho write the nouns on the WB. In case there is now WB pronounce them and also practice MFP.

Free Practice (10-20 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

ask the Ss to take out their things that they have on them and let them work in pairs to discuss whose these things are. NB: tell them to use, "I think it's", "Whose is this mobile phone?" so that they would use the target language. The teacher elicit the mistakes and correct them either with the ss self-correction, either by herself showing the MFP
