Description

In this lesson, i will focus on the structure of ''I, you, She, He ,It''. During the introduction, i will come out with the singular form of the verb be.The will be given enough time to practice some fluency in speaking. The students will be able to formulate a yes/no question . Finally, they will work in pairs to do some exercises.

Abc e.g gaps-fill handout

Main Aims

  • To use the singular of the verb be with the appropriate pronoun.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide practice of the singular form of the verb to be.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (7-8 minutes) • To prepare students for the listening and make it accessible

the students will look at some pictures, and i will ask them what they see. After some speculations, i will ask some questions about the pictures using the singular form of the verb be.

Test 2 (8-9 minutes) • Pre-Listening

The Teacher will ask the students to work in pairs to compare answers. They will check in pairs and they will receive the right answers.

Gist Listening (10-12 minutes) • to provide students with less

They will listen an audio. They will be focus on the photo of Tina and Matt on SB p17 and point out photos 1-4 of Tina s friends. The students will listen and match the names in the box to photo 1-4. After they will check the answers with the class.

free practice • To provide students with free practice of the target language

The students will get some pictures and they will have to talk in groups about which pronoun to use and how to formulate a yes-no answer.
