Description

In the lesson students will learn to be verb. We will start up with the conversations about number plates. Sentences will be elicited from these conversations. Grammar will be explained and followed by the pictures. Students will be involved in the conversation about the professions. Exercises will be given out to practice grammar usage. To end up, class will be divided into the groups of 4. They will get 2 questions each to practice the grammar. In case of extra time, conversations 1 and 2 might be practiced.

  • To provide clarification of the "be" verb in the context of conversation about cars

Procedure

Lead-in (1-2 minutes) • Remind the topic

Remind the context of the listening

Exercise with conversations (8-10 minutes) • introduction to grammar and ability to control their knowledge in this area

Instructions + ICQs: Do we read it firstly? What do we do afterwards? Give out handouts and let them discuss it Get a whole class feedback

Grammar (5-10 minutes) • Introduce the "be" verb

Write the sentences from the conversations and underline the "be" verb pass on to grammar - go through all the forms point out the contractions

Practice grammar (10-15 minutes) • practice grammar usage

Start with google images (He is.., she is.., they are..) Mention the usage of an article "a" with the professions Instructions to fill the gaps exercise and giving the handouts, pair work and analyzing, and finally their WC feedback Instructions to rewriting exercise and giving the handouts, pair work and analyzing and the feedback on the WB

Speaking (15-20 minutes) • Practice the grammar usage while speaking

Demo +Instructions + ICQs: Do we speak all together? Do we ask everybody in the group one by one? Divide the students in the groups of 4 by calling them amazing, brilliant, awesome and great Give cut up questions and make sure to monitor for mistakes and participation (mention not to show the questions)
