in this lesson Ss know the attributive adjectives and how to use them.They will learn about predicative adjectives .

Main Aims

  • to introduce the attributive adjectives and to give the Ss practices in context of family

Subsidiary Aims

  • to give students practices in speaking for fluency

Procedure

Warmer (5 minutes) • to get the students interested in the topic

T will show a picture of a photo related to ''alive'' adjective, and ask students to discuss in pairs and tell their ideas on that photo. it could be hangman.

Presentation (15-20 minutes) • To get the students involved in the new materials

T will give the Ss some papers written the adjectives. Ss should find each opposites and sit next to each other. T will stick some photos on the board and Ss will work in pairs and find the best adjectives which describes each photo. T will give time to students to match the adjectives with the definitions in the first exercise. Elicit the answers after group work.

Language Focus (5-8 minutes) • Focus Ss on position of predicative adjectives

T will give the Ss ex 2. they work in pairs/small group and decide which sentence is better.

Controlled practice (5-8 minutes) • to assess the students on what they have learned

T will want the Ss to complete the work book .

Freer practice (5-8 minutes) • To have fluency practice

T will prepare a sentences about some one in his/her family using some adjectives to set a model up starting ex 3. T will monitor the Ss and give them feedback.

Personalisation/Speaking (5-8 minutes) • To mingle and interview each other

T will prepare five or six different questions about their families using adjectives from vocab ex.1 (e.g. what time of day are you most awake? how often are you ill?). Ss mingle and interview each other. T will monitor and give feedback on what Ss find out.
