Description

In this lesson students are going to be faced with the vocabularies and follow the listening which is the main aim. They are going to have 2 speaking part before starting and after the listening finished.

Main Aims

  • To provide speaking practice in a Face to face between T & Ss in the context of They are going to use new vocabularies in their speaking
  • To provide gist listening practice using a text about A murder mystery in the context of They have time to guess the criminal event before listening and after listening they have pair work
  • To provide gist reading practice using a text about A murder mystery in the context of They have time to think about pictures and predict what will happen at the end
  • To provide gist reading practice using a text about A murder mystery in the context of They have time to think about pictures and predict what will happen at the end

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide reading practice using a text about A murder mystery in the context of Simple past verbs
  • To provide clarification of English in the context of They are going to study simple past baste on what the story was

Procedure

Warm up (10 minutes) • Speaking & vocabulary

I'm going to show them pictures about victims with out murder. So we are going to talk about them together.

Listening (5 minutes) • Ss should work together in order to answer the questions

Ss are going to listen once or more to answer questions in the book

Reading part (20 minutes) • To be familiar with new words

Ss have to guess the end of the reading by observing pictures and think about them. I have to pre teach 5_8 new words and explain the differences after I read the reading part.

Speaking (5 minutes) • To guess who is the murder

Ss are going to have a debate to guess who is the murder. Thy should have logical reasons

Part 2 of the listening (10 minutes) • Filling the tabular

I'm going to set close pair which Ss can fill the tabular about Jeremy last night. Then they should answer the question.

Listening part 3 (5 minutes) • Pronunciation

Ss have to listen the pronunciation part and repeat

Free time (5 minutes) • Taking rest and closing the book

Ss can rest and not study for 5 minutes. They can even speak but not in persian. •if they speak in persian, they won't have free time any more

Vocabulary (3 minutes) • To be familiar with regular & irregular verbs in simple past

Ss have short time to listen to the listening and work on vocabulary in order to get ready for the grammar

Grammar p 1 (5 minutes) • To study simple past they have to be elicited

I'm going to link the Grammer to the story and talk a bout it a few minutes and elicit Ss.

Grammar p 2 (5 minutes) • Grammar introduction

I'm going to set a warm up and propell Ss to the main text

Grammar p 3 (10 minutes) • The main text

I'm going to work on my examples and explain the main text

Grammar p 4 (5 minutes) • Eliciting

After I finished teaching grammar, I have to ask questions in other to check the Ss knowledges.

Free time (15 minutes) • Eliciting knowledge and take rest

Baste on Ss chose, we can play a game in about 15 minutes at the end
