In this stage I will tell my students how I slept last night and I will also ask them to share their experience and how they slept last night as well. Also we will shortly discuss the questions in Exercise 1.
We will go through and read the Reading Strategy, explain and review it together to make sure the students have learned and understood what to do. Also before going into the text and reading it I will explain the meaning of the words "lark" and "owl".
In this stage the students will be asked to read the text briefly to get the general idea that the text is conveying and answer Exercise 2.
In this stage the students will be asked to read the text just a bit more carefully than before and mostly look for key words to find their answers and complete Exercise 3.
In this stage the students will read the text very carefully and line by line to answer the questions in Exercise 4.
In this stage we will read the Learn This! box and I will clarify and explain homonyms and what they are.
In this stage the students will complete Exercise 5 and we will check it together. Then we will do a couple of examples for Exercise 6 and the students will do the rest of the exercise and Vocabulary Builder as homework at home and we will check them the next session.
In this stage the students will hold conversations in pairs answering the questions asked in Exercise 7 and then they will share their answers with the class.
