Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of will/won't prediction in the context of Daily Life

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a Giving santence in the context of Daily Life

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will ask them how they react in different situations. Do they look at things positively or do they think something bad will happen? For example if you are late for a class, do you think teacher will be mad or not? Or if you want to play, do you think you will broke your hand or you will enjoy it without problem?

Exposure (3-4 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Then I will give them some sentences like: Let's drive to the restaurant. I'm selling my old laptop. We are going to see the movie in Spanish. And I will ask them to react positively or negatively. I will want them to put O or P for each sentence.

Highlighting (2-3 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

I will write down 4 answers. 2 of positive answers and 2 of negative ones so they understand the TL.

Clarification (10-12 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

In this stage, I will draw a timeline to clarify that the sentences are for future so that the meaning will be understood. I will ask some CCQs like: " Are the sentences about past, present or future? Future. Are we sure it will happen or we just think it will? We just think.. Is there any signs that it will happen? No. So does it have the same meaning with 'going to'? No. " Then I will elicit the structure. So they will understand the form and how to put the words. The short forms as well. Like: I will watch that. I'll watch that. And to mention that no matter which subject we are using, we can use 'll. After that I want them to tell the yes/no questions. And the short answers.

Controlled Practice (3-4 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

I will ask them to go to page 137 part A. Then they will read it each be each and in case of mistake, I will correct them.

Free Practice (0-0 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

They will talk about their future and how they imagine it will be. ( Next session )
