Main Aims

  • To provide clarification, review and practice of the ING form in the context of Activities

  • To provide clarification and practice of Outdoor Activities in the context of Cam

Procedure

Warm Up (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students.

Introduce myself to the students, ask their names and what do they like to do. (Ask if they've ever went camping). Everybody Up (Maybe).

Lead In (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation.

Ask them to open their books on page 4 (K4 - Student's book). Read the name of the activities and try to identify them on the picture. Ask about other activities you can do outdoors and if they've ever done any of it.

Presentation (2-4 minutes) • Moment of the lesson in which the main aim is presented.

Page 5 exercise C - D (K4 - Student's Book), show the students how you use the grammar presented and make them repeat with me to review their pronunciation.

Practice (8-10 minutes) • Make the students interact with the language and put it to use.

Page 5 exercise C (K4 - Student's Book), show the pictures in the book and ask the name of the activities being performed in each one, ask if they did or would like to do any of them and ask if they think the kids on the pictures are liking it or not.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice.

Page 5 exercise D (K4 - Student's Book), show the pictures presented in the book and ask the students which of the two activities the characters enjoy the most. Page 4 exercise A (K4 - Work Book), board activity, call out students to match the activity with the picture.

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice.

Mimic game with the activities, whisper the name of an activity and ask the student to mime while other try to guess what's the name of it.

Production (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language.

Pair/Group Work, ask the students to gather in groups or pairs and write some sentences about not only camping activities but any that they enjoy or already done. After, ask the students to read to their classmates and try to guess who wrote each sentence.

Wrap Up (3-5 minutes) • Time to remind students of what thet learned in the lesson.

Pass the balloon in a circle and play some music, when the music stops ask the student who has the balloon to say the name of an activity saw during class.
