To provide clarification and review of jobs in the context of job advertisements
Procedure (36-51 minutes)
T will give instructions for the HO, "you must work by yourself and fill in the job that matches the picture." Then T will use CCQ's to check that Ss understand instructions: "are you going to with a partner?" "What will you write on this line?" T will then pass out the HO and monitor Ss. After a few minutes, T will have Ss fill in the answers on the WB via overhead projector.
T will HO a job advertisement and also put it on the WB via overhead projector. T will tell Ss to read it quickly. T will ask questions to elicit Ss knowledge about the topic of the advertisement. T will give instructions for the vocab HO by telling Ss they will work in pairs to match the word with the definition. T will then pass it out the HO to the Ss. T will teach necessary vocabulary that Ss need to know for the reading exercise.
T will give instructions for Ss to read the job advertisements and write down what jobs it is for.T will tell Ss to work individually. T will then pass out the HO to SS. After a few minutes, T will give instructions to get into pairs and discuss with partners what job the ads are for. WC will then discuss the answers.
T will give instructions for Ss to work individually and complete the questions on the back of the paper. T will monitor and help Ss if needed. T will instruct Ss to get into pairs and check their answers. WC will go over answers.
T gives instructions for Ss to get into pairs and tells students to talk with their partner about what job from the 4 job ads. that they want to work in and why. After a few minutes, Ss will switch partners. If there is extra time, T will make a list on WB of who wants what job.
