Adverbs of Frequency,Regularity,and Time.
A2/B1 level

Description

In this lesson,the teacher will test students' ability to categorize some adverbs into adverbs of frequency ,regularity and time.Also,the teacher will test their ability to put the adverbs in the right order in the sentence.Depending on the results,a clarification ,if needed,will follow to highlight the target language.Then, a controlled practice for students to get the appropriate practice.Then,the students will write sentences about themselves using the adverbs and talk to each other in pairs.

Main Aims

Procedure

Test #1 (10-13 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

T will tell the students that they have to answer two questions individually. ICQS: Alone or in pairs ? alone Can we look to any other papers we have?No T monitors carefully to decide what needs clarification in the next stage. Students check in pairs. [FEEDBACK:Complete the table on WB and a student from each group to write a sentence answering the second exercise.T ask students if they think the sentences are correct and ask for correction if they think they are not.

Teach (10-12 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

Depending on the result of the test ,T will clarify needed areas of pronunciation , meaning and form of the target language.

Test #2 (5-8 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

T will hand out an exercise to check the progress after the clarification. Students then check in pairs. [FEEDBACK: a student of each group write one of the sentences on board .T ask class whether they agree and if not why ?]

Free practice (13-15 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Students will write four true and two false sentences about their daily habits then they will tell them to their partners to guess the false ones. T change groups to allow more free practice .
