A1-B1 Vets level

Description

Apply previously learned grammar structures in realistic, unscripted interaction

Materials

No materials added to this plan yet.

Main Aims

  • Use target grammar fluently during interactive, unscripted scenarios

Subsidiary Aims

  • Practice realistic communication in team-based tasks

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

On the board or projector, show a Language Use Grid. Students call out or give examples as fast as possible using target grammar in response to a cue.

Semi-Controlled Practice (38-40 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

Divide students into small groups (3–4 people) Each group receives a veterinary case scenario (I can create these next) Task: Each group conducts a mock staff meeting or case review. Students must: Report what the client said (reported speech) Ask polite questions (indirect questions) Suggest what should’ve happened (3rd/mixed conditionals) Describe what was done (passive voice)

Free Practice (13-15 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

In a large circle, prompt students: “What structure did you use naturally today?” “Which grammar point has become part of your thinking?” “What’s a communication skill you’re taking with you?” Instructor may prompt extra grammar rephrasing if needed.
