Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Activity: Before watching the video, hand out or draw a "grammar hunt" bingo grid on the board with items like: Passive Reported Speech Indirect Q Modal Verb Students will listen for these structures during the video and mark when they hear an example

While-Reading/Listening #1 (33-35 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

First Viewing (with subtitles ON): General understanding: Who is speaking? What happened? 🟢 Second Viewing (focused): Students listen for target grammar (from the board or bingo grid) Underline or jot down specific examples they catch

Post-Reading/Listening (13-15 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Instructor asks: “Did anyone catch a mixed conditional?” “What’s an example of passive voice from the video?” “What question was asked using an indirect structure?” Board examples pulled directly from student notes. Optional: Students rewrite 1–2 quotes from the video using another grammar structure (e.g., turn a reported sentence into passive, or a direct quote into reported).

Wrap-Up (3-5 minutes) • To close the lesson

Complete Cornell summaries or mark bingo boards Discussion prompt: “How much easier is it to follow natural English now compared to Week 1?”
