Main Aims

  • Review and apply key grammar (e.g., conditionals, reported speech, indirect questions, passive voice) in speaking

Subsidiary Aims

  • Practice fluency in explaining processes, experiences, and opinions

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Activity: In small groups, students list as many grammar structures or vocabulary topics from the program as they can..

Productive Task(s) (73-75 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Review & Practice – Grammar Recap Carousel Setup: Rotating stations, each focused on a target structure. Students rotate every few minutes and complete a short speaking task per station: Instructor floats to provide support and correction. My Vet-English Journey – Timeline Storytelling Setup: Each group creates a visual timeline or storyboard of their progress in the course. They mark key learning points and: Describe how their English improved Use grammar structures to explain change (e.g., mixed conditional, reported speech) 💬 “If I hadn’t studied every day, I wouldn’t be speaking like this now.” Open Discussion – Then vs. Now Prompts (in pairs or small groups): “What could you not say at the start of the course that you can now?” “Which grammar topic was hardest at first, but now makes sense?” “What’s something you feel confident explaining in English today?” Encourage real reflection and support casual conversation.

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

Instructor highlights participation and growth Students write down one grammar structure they want to continue practicing Optional exit task: “Write a short statement using at least 2 grammar structures we reviewed today.”
