Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (13-15 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Activity Breakdown: 5 min – Review structure & expectations: Speak clearly and confidently Encourage audience to ask questions — using indirect questions 5 min – Remind useful language: “Can you tell us why you chose this topic?” “Would you mind sharing an example?” “Do you know if this is still common today?” 5 min – Final prep & tech check (students ready visuals, notes, etc.)

Productive Task(s) (70-75 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Student Presentations – Part 1 (75 mins) Format: 10-15 minutes each (includes short Q&A) Roles: One student presents Class listens, takes notes, and prepares 1–2 questions Encourage use of indirect questions for the Q&A Instructor Tasks: Time-keep presentations Note strengths and helpful phrases for feedback Gently manage pacing if someone runs over time

Feedback and Error Correction (0-5 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

If presentations finish early: Pair reflection: “What’s something you connected with?” “What speaking strategies were effective today?”
