Main Aims

  • To provide fluency and accuracy speaking practice in a conversation in the context of jobs

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide clarification and practice in the context of job
  • To provide clarification and practice of First Conditional in the context of Future jobs

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (15-15 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

At first I ask students about their dream jobs and elicit how much they know about different jobs. Then i show them some flashcards and i want them to talk about it and mention the jobs.

Clarification (5-8 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

I clarify the meaning and pronunciation then students repeat the new words

Exposure (10-15 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

I ask them some questions about future and how will jobs change in the future. "what job will you do in future?" , "will robots take over some jobs?"

Warmer/Lead-in (10-15 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

At first I ask them some questions about different situations which they guess and talk about possibility. Additionally with some sentences I show them the structure.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

I play language focus and they sing it together

Controlled Practice (4-8 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

I design a worksheet which help them to make sentences

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

I design a worksheet which they have to correct the mistakes of sentences and they should fill the blanks

Free Practice (10-15 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Students will perform a role-play. I will prepare scenario and they should answer the questions. For example: You are planning a picnic. what will you do if...
