Description

In this lesson ,Ss will tell the teacher about what they have learnt in the previous lesson as a kind of warmer and review and for the teacher to elicit what they learned about the text before working on the productive skill of writing.The teacher will present the genre of the text to the student,brainstorm their ideas,show a sample text and give them a text to reorder it correctly.correctly. Ss will write a draft then a final text .

Main Aims

  • To process and product writing practice of a a blog entry in the context of previously visited places .

  • To provide review of the negative simple past in the context of traveling

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To engage students and review

T pretends to be their absent friend.friend. Ss discuss in groups what T missed in the last lesson and tell the teacher. T shows pictures of social media apps ask Ss to discuss in pairs what they use and what they don`t. Feedback asking one pair about the other.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks

T shows the text the Ss studied last lesson.Elicit vocabulary language form ideas from Ss. Ask them if they know the genre. T introduce and summaries the main writing task. Make sure Ss know who they are writing for and why. T projects a text Ss should think and figure out in pairs about what city the text is. T Tells them they will write a similar text.

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

T quickly elicits the past simple and its negative form from Ss. T highlights the functional use of language. Then T handouts a text for Ss to reorder it in pairs. Feedback with focus on the order of information in the text. On WB Quick brainstorm and clear setting of the writing task.

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Ss in group of three write together. should we write the name of the visited place ? no should we let others hear it ?no In which tense is the text? past on WB one group = one text/past/no name of the place / T monitors when Ss write . note good sentences and incorrect ones.

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

After Groups finish writing they swap texts to guess the places and each group read the others` text with a whole class discussion about texts. Error correction on WB of useful language.
