Description

In this lesson students learn about present perfect through a reading text about a family. The lesson starts with a discussion about their activities. Finally there is some controlled practice and also free practice with role play speaking activity

Main Aims

  • To provide gist reading practice using a text about Helping shakespeare in the context of explorers travel to past and they meet shakespear

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide clarification and practice of Present Perfect in the context of Student's activity
  • To provide fluency and accuracy speaking practice in a conversation

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (15-20 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

To engaging students with new grammar at first I will ask them: what have you just done? After they respond, I help them to make sentences with new grammar. They will understand The grammar and its function in a game which i designed

Exposure (8-12 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

I will give them a short text which is related to new grammar and I will ask them some questions about the story so they learn to answer with new grammar

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-12 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

I prepare a practice which they have to put words in order and fill the blanks. then they check the answer together

Warmer/Lead-in (15-20 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Students need to read the story of helping shakespear quickly and find the answers. then they will read it aloud and complete other exercises in pair work and check the answer together.

Clarification (5-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

They have to find 5 new words from the text and guess about the meaning

Free Practice (12-18 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Students play "Truth or lie" game. They should write some truth and some lie with just, then read them so others have to guess which is true
