Description

In this lesson, students are going to learn new vocabularies and new grammar from unit 7.In this session, the attention is paid to speaking.

Main Aims

  • To provide accuracy and fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of theatre and plays

  • To provide clarification and practice of will for offers and promises in the context of helping and promises
  • To provide clarification and practice of conversation in the context of theatre and plays

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (10-20 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

This is the first session, students should introduce themselves and they must be able to talk about their hobbies and interest. Also they review previous units and talk about it. In addition, at this stage of the lesson i ask them about theatre to become aware of their knowledge and then I ask them about the picture and I engage them to talk about explorers. They notice about new words and become curious

Clarification (4-8 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

By listening to the audio I clarify the stress marks for new words and then students repeat and practice. I explain the meaning of the words

Controlled practice (5-8 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

I ask students to write 5 sentences and check it together.

Warmer/Lead-in (10-20 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I play language focus video about will for offers and promises. I provide a gap-fill to show them how we use will and then the have to complete a practice in super practice book

Semi-Controlled Practice (7-12 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

students practice a exercise from student book as a role play

Highlighting (5-8 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

I play a song that is related to the new grammar and we sing it together.

Free Practice (10-20 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

students talk about what did they learn today and they use new words and grammar as a sentences. After that i provide a game to practice their dictation
