Procedure

Pre-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Prompt Discussion (Pairs or Triads): “Have you ever missed an opportunity because of something small?” “What do people usually say when they regret something?” Instructor elicits common “regret” expressions: “If only I had…” “I should’ve…” “If I had done X, I’d be Y right now…”

While-Reading/Listening #2 (23-25 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks
