Possessive pronouns

In this lesson ,students practice possessive pronouns to talk about relationships through discussing photos of family members.Then they will listen and answer activities.Then they will discuss photos to answer an activity and drill accurate models. The lesson ends with free production of target language by pair work activity about predicting who`re the people in some photos.

Warmer/Pre-listening (8-10 minutes) • To set the context and to prepare students for the text and make it acceccible

Show the first picture of ex.1 about Omar and get students to describe who`s who in the picture before listening to check.Show them the second picture of Emma.Give clear instructions before listening to track 1.30.Use IQCS.

Detailed listening. Practise writing/ (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

Monitor carefully. Ss check in pairs and listen again if they need to.to. Then Ss fill gaps in ex 1b and listen to track 1.31 to drill words.

Concept checking (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning and form of the target language

Ss answer ex2 .Elicit the difference between his/her,then give clear instruction to Ss to practice in pairs using the first pictures using his and her. Monitor carefully.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and practice pronunciation

Show photos of exercise 3 on the board.students in pairs match the sentence with to photo.Practice the short form of `they are`.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Make group of six people and handout pair work p.87.Each one says what he thinks about the picture of his number.
