(Eliciting "the news") The teacher tries to set the context by asking a few questions: - Where do you usually get your news? the TV, the radio, newspapers or the internet? - Do you watch or listen to the news everyday? If yes, at what time of day? - What was the news yesterday?
The teacher tries to elicit and pre-teach the vocabulary by asking students what they usually see or hear on the news and by showing them some pictures. The teacher models and drills the vocabularies T will briefly explain irregular past simple forms.
The teachers gives students some photos and ask them what they think about the photos. The teacher tells students that they will listen to the news and the news is related to the photos. Ss should try to match every photo with particular news. The teacher then gives the specific information questions' HO to the students asks them to ready through the questions quickly. The students will listen once more to the news and answer the questions. The students can check their answers together and then there will be WC feedback.
The teacher will give the students the detailed questions' HO and students have time to read the questions in part A. Students will listen to the news once more and will try to answer the questions. This will be followed by peer checking and then there will be WC feedback. The teacher tells students they will listen to two people talking about the news and they will answer questions in Part B. If it is required they can listen twice (they already know the context and they should be able to answer the questions by listening only once) Peer checking and WC feedback.
