  • Model: They were ____. / We were _____.

Procedure

Warm Up Video (3-5 minutes) • To get students focused and ready to learn

Play an appropriate video for students to dance to.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Review Third Person Structures. Spinner Game Add We/ they were structures.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

show students the difference between He was and We were as words. Show some picture cards that pronouns on them and have students put the pronouns with the right form of the verb to be.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Continue with the plurals of Were. Play Mystery Cups Students will need to make the sentence and then the teacher will place one cup more than the students that were called. Some of the cups will have stickers inside. The students will choose a cup after answering. If they get a cup give 10 points, if not give 1 for each player.

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

Students will try to make sentences about pictures with random children and words scrambled on the screen. The first team to make and read the sentence is the winner. The winner will roll a dice.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Play a bomb game that students will see the pictures of more than one person and need to make sentence to get the prize.
