Description

İn this lesson the Ss will learn about how to ask for favours.Lesson will begin with some pictures.T will ask Ss what do they think the People in the pictures are doing?T will elicit the word" favour" .Ss will then make a list of common favours they might ask somebody to do.Working in pairs Ss will ask questions to each other from the HO provided by the teacher.WC FB at the end of activity.Ss will listen to the audio CDS and note down the relationship between the People, where they are and what favour is being asked.Then will listen again and note down the reaction öf the person being asked for favour.Does he grant or refuse.T will write a question on board for ex 1 (Language focus) and the Ss will answer.Ss will do an activity by competing the table with phrases in the box.At the end Ss will role play asking for a favour and giving a reply.

Procedure

warmer / Lead in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T will show some pictures on the W/B and ask students what the People are doing in the picture? May be the work they are doing isn't actually theirs. T will elicit the phrase asking for favours here.Ss will then make a list of other common favours they might ask somebody to do. WCFB at the end of stage.

Exposure (5-8 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a Text or situation.

T will provide HO to the Ss and they will answer the questions by asking each other.Ss will work in pairs.WC feedback by the T at the end.

Conntrolled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To present the functional language in context via a series of conversation.

Ss will listen to 4 audio CDS one by one.T will write questions on board before playing the audio.Ss will think and write down what they think the relationship between the People, where they are and what favour is being asked .Check in pairs. Ss will listen once again and write how does the person asked read? Does he/ she grant or refuse the favour.Check in pairs.

Conntrolled Practice (3-5 minutes) • To draw student's attention to the items of functional language.

T will write three statements on the W/B and ask Ss which one is the most direct.This will be a WC activity. Then T will give HO to the students where they will complete the table with phrases in the box.Ss will do it alone.Answer key will be provided after the activity.WC feedback by the teacher at the end.

Free Practice (3-5 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Ss will role play asking for a favour and giving a reply.Work in pairs.They will use list of favours from the warm up exercise1 and expressions from Language focus exercises 1 and 2.T will give them a minute to prepare för the activity and then the pairs play in front of WC, using the TL .
