Procedure (50-60 minutes)
Board incomplete sentences (e.g., I was walking through the clinic when…). Ask: What do you think happened? What are some common accidents or funny mishaps? Students complete one sentence and share in pairs.
Task: Listen and answer: What happened? Who was involved? What caused the problem? Quick group confirmation after.
Procedure: Students listen again and complete: Left column: verbs/actions in past simple/past continuous Right column: people/situations associated Bottom: summary of what happened in 2–3 sentences
Procedure: In trios: Retell the story using their notes Add one sentence with past simple, one with past continuous Add a new twist or solution (e.g., what they would have done) Each group shares one complete retelling to class.
Procedure: Instructor asks: What words or phrases did you not understand today? Students nominate terms from the clip or their notes. Instructor: Writes the word on the board Defines and explains it Provides pronunciation + a sample sentence if needed
