In this lesson, Ss will be introduced to use will to talk about habits and expressing dis agreement of someone’s habits. Ss will also speak in pairs practicing expressing that.

Main Aims

  • To introduce will in talking about general truth and about habits which happen in the present.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To practice will in expressing disagreement of someone’s habit.


Warming-up (4-5 minutes) • To get students interested in the topic.

Ss watch a short video of Mr. Bean about daily routine. T tries to elicit some sentences about general habits.

Language presentation (14-16 minutes) • To introduce Ss to the TL.

Ss will get HO of the TL with the audio scripts of the previous listening exercise to help Ss understand the given sentences in their context. Ss start doing the task individually. Ss start by the M, F and then P. T allows some time for Ss to finish the task. Ss check in PW. T does FB. T drills the marker sentences to introduce the difference between stressed and unstressed "will" which will be practised in the following exercises.

Controlled practice (5-7 minutes) • To practice using "will" with correct meaning and form.

Ss will get HOs of Controlled exercise in which Ss will fill the gaps will in addition to one basic verb. Ss do the task and then check in pairs. T does FB on the board.

pronunciation (9-10 minutes) • To exposure Ss to natural using of "will" with its different usages

Ss unfold HOs and listen to the sentences to underline the stressed will which refer to criticism. Ss select the correct meaning of "will". After that Ss will go to another exercise to consolidate the meaning of "will". Ss have to read the sentences, decide the meaning and then underlined the stressed "will".

Freer practice (5-7 minutes) • To practice using "will" with correct meaning,form and pronunciation.

T divides the class into two or three groups and asks Ss to tell their group partners about disapproval habit he does not like. During discussion T tries to write notes for delayed error correction.
