Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Go to Ex. 1 slide (List of hobbies for visual aid) Ss in pair, tell their partner their hobby. Give example "How we do we ask?"What do you do in your free time?" "Do you go dancing?" Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To verify Ss knowledge of the text and ability to gauge listening skills

T asks SS "What does Paul do in his free time?" "What are his hobbies?" "Tell me three hobbies" Ex. 3. CCQ to check. Work in Pairs. T goes back to ex. 1 slide as visual aid. Ask Ss to guess with partner. "Choose from ex. 1" Have pairs read their ideas. make sure they say "Paul likes to..." Check Answers R4.2. Check answers with WC. CCQ as needed.

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

T asks "Now we know Paul's hobbies" "Look at Ex. 5 A and B alone" Do ex. 5 alone. CCQ instructions. "A and?" "Alone?" etc. Give a few mins. Have Ss check answers with partner. Have random S read outlaid 1 answer, switching between random Ss. Emphasize in pos. sentence with he/she/it -s/-es ending. Neg sentences with he/she/it doesn't + infinitive. We don't add - or -es to the infinitive. "He doesn't like..." not "He doesn't likes..." For B) T emphasizes we don't use "doesn't" in negative sentences with he/she it. We use "don't" in negative sentences with "I, you, we,they."
