İn this lesson Ss will learn the adverbs of frequency in the context öf Sleeping and Waking up routines.Ss will be given a HO to read and decide what it could be?Meaning of some difficult words like hardly ever,a lot of energy,to record a Tv programme,the end of film etc will also be provided.Once they get some knowledge of the context ,they will do an activity on WB to find out who is an early bird and who is the night Owl. Ss will solve the Questionnaire by working in pairs.Answer key will be projected on WB and Ss will decide their scores.T will teach the adverbs of frequency and will elicit sentences from them.Ss will find the adverbs of frequency from the same Questionnaire. T will teach the form,how the adverbs of frequency are used in the sentences.Ss will work on a HO.Ss will check the answer with WC.Ss will do an exercise by puttting the adverb of frequency on the WB that is correct for them.

Main Aims

Warmer/Lead-in (5-10 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Ss will be given a Questionnaire to read for 3-5 mins as it will provide a context for the TL.Ss will do an activity on WB to get the clear concept of early bird and night Owl. T will divide the board in two columns.One column for the persons who get up early in the morning and the other for the persons who sleep very late at night.T will ask Ss what time do they get up in the morning and what time do the sleep at night?Their answers will decide which column do they fit in..This activity will provide a basis for the TL.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Teach the adverbs of frequency and elicit the sentences from the Ss using their daily or weekend routines.Ss will do an activity on the WB by putting the flashcards in the right order on a line showing 0%- 100%. Meaning: using the correct adverb. example: Use 'always' for a thing that you do everyday, All the time or 100%. İ always brush my teeth in the morning. This is what i always do in All the seven days of the week. İ never drink coffee at night. This is what i donot do at all.0% On a line showing adverbs always with 100% is at one end and never with 0% lies on the other end.The rest come in between. Form: Construction sentences using adverbs of frequency and their position in the sentence. subject+adverbs of frequency+base verb Always,usually and often can be used in negative sentences İ dont always go to the school by bus. She doesn't often visit her Uncle. But the adverbs Hardly ever,Sometimes and never can be used in negative sentences. example: we dont never play football. She doesn't sometimes help her mother. Pronunciation: Adverbs like usually,Hardly ever and often maybe new words for the Ss. İ will model and drill these words Usually / ju:zu:ali/ Hardly ever / ha:dli eva/ Often / ofa:n/

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Ss will be given a Questionnaire to solve in pairs.check the scores.Working in groups compare the scores and see how many answers are the same.Answer key will be projected on.Ss will learn the meaning and concept of early bird and night Owl. Later they will do another exercise with the same Questionnaire.They have to encircle the adverbs of frequency used in this Questionnaire. Ss will work in pairs.WC feedback will be given at the end.After teaching them the correct position of adverbs in sentences with verbs and the verb 'be',Ss will be given a HO for exercise.Ss will work in groups.WC feedback.

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

Ss will do an exercise activity on the WB by putting the adverb of frequency that is true for them.They will use flash cards.T will call a Ss on WB,he / she will read the sentence first and then paste the flash card that is true for him/ her.Ss will work individually.

Free Practice (3-5 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Ss will be given a sentence by the T and they have to make possible answer options using the adverbs of frequency.T will write on the WB when i have a problem........... The Ss will have to make possible answers like i always speak to my mother i sometimes speak to my mother i never tell my father. This activity provides a free speaking practice for the Ss,provided we get some time left.
