Procedure (32-43 minutes)
Teacher will do a warmer such as hangman to elicit the topic -family.
Using the pictures, T will elicit the family vocabulary step by step- building up the tree on the WB. T will not write anything at this stage but remember to drill eg John's Peter's father, do lots of repetitions.Then will get students to practice in pairs, looking at the tree & saying who each person is in relation to the others.
T will introduce the family on page 16.Will ask students to read and fill in the gaps with the correct vocabulary, using the pictures to help them.T will let them check in pairs & then listen to the CD to check their answers.
T will ask students to do ex 2-grouping the family vocabulary according to gender on whiteboard.Use the answer key to check.
T will give students her blank family tree - and the students will ask her questions e.g who is Peter? and T will answer with simple sentences e.g "He's my brother."She will listen and complete the tree making sure different Ss ask questions. Get Ss to check in pairs and then check using the ans key.
