Main Aims

  • To provide clarification, review and practice of of words related to profile in the context of people

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide gist, specific information and inference listening practice using a text about people in the context of peolpe


Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

-T will introduce the learning out comes of the lesson T plays hang man with the word Occupation. -T asks the students to see the pictures on page 16 and findout the jobs/occupation of all these people. -T asks the students to guess from the pictures

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

T asks the students about their nationality and the country they belong/ Students try to guess -T asks the students to do the Preparing to watch section in pairs. After the students have an idea of jobs and countries.T will ask the students to watch and listen

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

-T will ask the students to read the box and understand the table . _ t will ask questions about the headings .What is the first heading ? etc -T will ask the students to carefully see how the sentences are made with a complete idea. -After the explanation,students will be asked to listen and fill in the details. -Before feed back ,students will compare the ideas in groups.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

Teacher will write the words on the board ( beautiful, different,interesting,famous) picture for beautiful and famous,example for different and interesting after the vocabulary clarification ,Sts will complete exercise 3 -T will ask the students to discuss the questions in groups. -T will call a student at the front to show how they will do in groups T will ask the students to practice.

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned
