Description

In this lesson the students are going to review present simple, verb to be negative form. The lesson will start with the photos of famous people with unusual professions. They will work on a handout then the clarification stage comes. There is one semi controlled activity and freer speaking activity.

Main Aims

  • To provide fluency and accuracy speaking practice in a conversation in the context of jobs

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T will show photos of famous professionals. Ask students if they know their jobs.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

T will give sentences about the lives of these people and ask the students to fill in the blanks. Ask ICQs( Do we write about ourselves? No/ Alone or with a partner? Ss will work alone Check with the pairs WCF

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

T will ask CCQs to clarify the meaning.(Are the twins doctors? Is Jamie a film star? By eliciting the answers teacher will clarify the form. He+is+not+O She+is+not+O They+are+not+O T will also write the form of the question. Then drill. T will explain contractions

Controlled Practice (4-6 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

T will give the HO about jobs. Introduce the characters. Then tell the students to match them with the pictures ICQs Alone with a partner? Then tell them to check with their partners. Anwers will be WCF

Semi-Controlled Practice (5-6 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

T will give a more personalized HO to prepare students to speaking activity. Give the instructions ICQs/ Is it about me? Yes/ alone or with a frienD? Yes/ Do we write?Yes/ also suppurts with body language After they finish they check with a partner Elicit some answers

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

T will ask students to be two circles facing each other. They won't stand up at once, she will display T will ask the students to talk with at least 3 friends and learn something about their family, their job, marital status and where they live.
