To improve students' reading skills in the context of daily activities
To provide new vocabularies in the context of time expressions
Procedure (30-46 minutes)
T: Do have a brother? S: Yes, I have a brother. T: Where do he live? S: He lives in Istanbul.
Students will see a big picture of day and night diagram. They will see the words on the board and repeat after the teacher. Then they will be given a handout containing true false sentences. They will be divided into pairs and have to answers and check them together. Then the teacher will CCQ to make sure they have got the lesson perfectly.
In this section, students can see nine pictures on the WB about daily activities. Then they will repeat the words after the teacher for several times to know the correct pronunciation of the words. Next, teacher will stick the words under each picture with the help of students and repeat them again. After that, the words will be detached from the pictures to check students' CCQ.
Before giving the handouts of the reading, the teacher will show the instruction and check tests the ICQ. Then they will have adequate time to read the reading individually. After that, one of the students will be asked to read it for the class and work on the words.
In this part, students will be given a handout with three questions on the front and three answers on the back.They are asked to stand up and find someone to ask the questions from. They questions and answers differ from person to person. But before this, the teacher will act it out to give clear instruction to students. In this part, their productive skills will be developed.
