Main Aims

  • To review and practice lexis related to describing people.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To give sts practice in reading for detail.

Procedure

Intro (3-5 minutes) • To introduce myself and the topic

Write my name and introduce myself. Then I will erase my name. Then ask if someone can write my name. Then present the next activity...which is to remember the names of the faces on the projector..or in the handout...

Memory test (8-10 minutes) • To see if the student's can remember the names of the faces.

Ask the students to try to remember the names. Give them a couple minutes. Then ask them who knows the answer to a), b), etc. And I would like them to come and write the answer on the board. Then I will quickly go over and correct.

Reading (15-20 minutes) • Present new vocabulary

I will go over this with the students and focus on explaining the words they don't know. I will go ahead and let them find the answers and then I will write the true answers on the board. They will have a few minutes for this.

Pair work (8-10 minutes) • Students will work in pairs to discuss the questions on the handout.

I will call on them after a few minutes to let them share their answers with the class. There is no right or wrong answer.

A small test of vocabulary (13-15 minutes) • To allow students to help each other with new vocabulary and practice.

The students will be in groups for this task. They can answer the questions using information about the people in their group.
