At the airport-listening
To provide specific information and detailed listening practice using a text about airport announcement in the context of flight schedules for people waiting in the airport
To provide gist of the context through the gap-fill exercise in which Ss could understand very detailed information.
Procedure (35-43 minutes)
Have a 3 minutes conversation to start the topic and encourage students to talk about airport and what happens there and what people do there to get them familiar with what they are going to listen.as they are talking I have to write the new and useful words they are using. because they will need them for the coming listening.(5-7 mins)
Ask one of students to read the title of exercise 1.model the task for them and make them to do it.(3 minutes).after they finished have a wc check very quickly just to make sure they did it right.again ask another student to read the title of exercise 2 but I ask them to listen to the audio with their books closed because the listening text is provided by the book. they just listen to the audio first and do nothing.(4-6)
This time I ask students to open their books and listen again.they have to fill the gaps in the context while listening. after that,students have to check their answers in pairs.and a wc check very quickly.(5-8 mins)
ask students to have a role-play exercise in pairs groups and have a conversation in which they are at the airport and talking about luggage check in place.(4-6)
