Main Aims

To review adverbs of frequency – meaning & form - & give the Ss semi-controlled oral practice with them through the context of keeping in touch.

Subsidiary Aims

To give Ss practice in listening for specific information and in speaking for accuracy and fluency.

Procedure (40-52 minutes)

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

How do you contact your friends?- ask question Ss general feedback.

Pre-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Provide each student a handout which has three people (Adam,Carole, and Sharon) How do they (Adam, Carole, and Sharon) contact their friends?- ask question Ss work in pairs Pairs feedback

While-Reading/Listening #2 (4-5 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

Ask students to listen carefully.

Post-Reading/Listening #2 To check their listening understanding. (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Grammar #1&#2 (15-20 minutes) • To extend Ss' ability to the meaning and forms of the adverbs of frequency.

Ex #1: T draw the adverbs' box in board ask Ss find out other adverbs and write in the board in proper place. Ex #2: I (A) contact my friends on by phone B.
