To review adverbs of frequency – meaning & form - & give the Ss semi-controlled oral practice with them through the context of keeping in touch.
To give Ss practice in listening for specific information and in speaking for accuracy and fluency.
Procedure (40-52 minutes)
How do you contact your friends?- ask question Ss general feedback.
Provide each student a handout which has three people (Adam,Carole, and Sharon) How do they (Adam, Carole, and Sharon) contact their friends?- ask question Ss work in pairs Pairs feedback
Ask students to listen carefully.
How many sentences are true for u? ask question Ss' feedback.
Ex #1: T draw the adverbs' box in board ask Ss find out other adverbs and write in the board in proper place. Ex #2: I (A) contact my friends on by phone B. T draw A and B in one box Decide what adverb goes to position A or B and write it on the board. Check their answers Ex #3: Pairs work:what adverb from ex #1 will make the statement true for u. T check their work Monitor their pronunciation Ex #4: T show students some pictures How after he/she ..............?- ask questions General feedback and focus on pronunciation as well.
