Main Aims

  • To provide gist listening practice using a text about Technology and you. in the context of Technology you use at work

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide clarification of The simple present( negative; and +but ) in the context of Technology at work


Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

- Write my email address on the WB and elicit the word email. then make them ask about each other's email address. - Pass a white paper and ask them to write their names and their email addresses.

Pre-listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through pictures realia.

T shows a picture of technological items . Shows a degital camera and asks .Do you use a digital camera? Ss will answer yes / no . T writes, yes, I do./ No, I don't . I don't use a digital camera. T elicits Qs and As about all the items they have in the pictures. Do you use a computer? yes , I do. /No, I don't use a computer T writes the sentences . model them and drill them chorally.

while listening (5-8 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language they're going to listen to.

in this listening Ss will hear three short dialogues. in each a man and a woman will talk about how much the use technology at home. 1- Teacher gives a folded HO for the first listening activity . Gives the task and plays the recording . Students record and tick the words they hear . Ss will check the answers in pairs. 2- Ss unfold the HO , read through the sentenses . The teacher will play the recording again . Ss listen and decide true or false.

Post listenning (8-10 minutes) • To preview the negative form in the grammar section that follows.

Ss will be asked to turn the false sentences to negative or affirmative sentences. The students compare their answers with their peers.

Grammar (10-12 minutes) • Get the students turn the sentenses from negative to affirmative form ..

Students will be handed HO. They will read them and then do exercise 1 in the 2nd Handout in pairs. Exercise 1 and 2 will be corrected in pairs and a WC feedback will follow.
